for the Palm OS^® Devices (Version 1.22)

Demo Hardware and Software Requirements

• PDA device(s) running Palm OS^® 4.0 - 5.2.8.
• 2.5 MB free memory on the Palm device.
• See Application Requirements for more detail about recommended devices.

PDA Application Demo Download

1. To download the installation file, choose a location accessible to the workstation with Palm Desktop software and HotSync^® cradle installed (e.g., floppy drive, your desktop, or establish a folder on your hard drive/server to receive the download -- the demo installer requires approximately 7.5 MB).
2. Click PDAdemo##.exe to download the installer (## represents the current software version number).
3. Exit other programs (e.g., browser, etc.) prior to running the installer.
4. Navigate to the location you chose for the download and double-click the PDAdemo##.exe file, installing the program on the workstation with Palm Desktop software and HotSync^® cradle installed.
5. From the computer workstation that has the Palm Desktop software and Hot Sync^® cradle installed, navigate to the downloaded files and double-click PDAdemo##.exe to run the installer.
6. After the initial installation is complete, a dialog displays prompting you to select the PDAs on which to install Schoolmaster software. From the list of Palm OS^® devices that are registered with the Palm Desktop software, select all the appropriate PDAs and/or Users. After you have selected all, or at least one device, click Next.
7. A dialog displays a description of everything that was done by the installer. The computer workstation Installation is now complete.
8. Insert a PDA into the cradle and press the Hot Sync button to install Schoolmaster application on the PDA.
9. Start the PDA device, open the home screen that displays the application icons, and select the Schoolmaster Office, Attendance, Gradebook, or Mark Entry application icons to access the demo information.

To Uninstall the Demo

To uninstall the Schoolmaster PDA demo, software, and associated databases from the PDA device, the user must manually delete them.

1. Start the PDA device.
2. Open the home screen that displays all of your application icons. Activate the menu by selecting the Title bar. Select the App menu and choose Delete from the list.
3. Select the appropriate Schoolmaster PDA application from the list of applications and select the Delete button.
4. When finished, select Done.
